The Rose Garden, is a South African education initiative and a registered trademark, aimed at educating South African stockvels and individuals about the stock exchange.
The Rose Garden wishes to completely de-mystify the stock exchange and to allow stockvels and individuals to make informed decisions should they decide to purchase shares in companies that are listed on the stock exchange. These include shares purchased on behalf of the stokvel or in individual capacity, shares purchased as part of a family trust, shares granted to employees as part of a listed company's Share Incentive Scheme, as well as any shares purchased as part of BBBEE schemes.
Diso Motsifane and Mokone Kgopa are Founders and Programme Directors of The Rose Garden which they established after realising a greater need for basic education about the stock exchange. Their role in this regard is to provide Stockvels and individuals with sufficient knowledge about the intricacies of a stock exchange. They achieve this by breaking down the technical aspects as well as the sophisticated jargon (i.e. stock exchange language) that is typically used in the stock markets into the simplest form, with the objective of getting even the "man on the street" to fully understand such information.
